When was the last post?... About a month ago?
Oh well. I'm finally quite free, as in long term. Well, just for a couple of days actually. Since there's the earthquake and stuff.
So, for the whole month, I tried to settle down in Christchurch. The place is nice, the air is fresh, the streets are clean, the food is ..expensive, besides fish & chips, the veges are SUPER EXPENSIVE, the fruits are okay, chicken drumsticks and thighs and wings are CHEAPER than chicken breast for like HALF OF THE PRICE, GARLIC AND ONIONS ARE EXPENSIVE, potatoes are cheaper, broccoli is cheap, well, the price is crazy for that; rice is EXPENSIVE, they are sold in packets, 5kg each. = =
duh. Everything expensive la.
They got many varieties of buns though, bread too. They even have orange cake with chocolate chips!! There are orange muffin with chocolate chips. ^^ 9 muffins for $5. So, that's like, RM12 for 9 muffins. Okay la. It's nice, what can I do.
So, when did I reach NZ? erm.. I flew from Kuching to Brunei on the evening of 6th of February. Waited in the airport for about 1 to 2 hours, flew to Auckland from there. That's about 9 hours. oh dear.. = = I was dizzy and sleepy all the way. I didn't eat much of the food. A waste. Anyway, reached Auckland. Walked all the way for about 5 minutes to JetStar's airport, and sat there waiting for our flight, which was 5 hours later. I ate my first McD burger there. $4.60 for a set meal. It includes a burger, a drink, a small fries and a sundae. Somehow, it's cheaper than Malaysia's?
So, we reached Christchurch around... 8 something. And you know what? It's bright outside. The sun have not set yet. It's like 6pm in Kuching. Anyway, it's raining a bit so it's super cold. = =
My long distance relative, Uncle Alex and brother sent us, family of 4 and my uncle, to the motel. Ilam Motel. I heard that it's operated by a Malaysian, from Kuching. wow. The motel is nice. Really. ^^ Later, we went over to the house we are going to stay for the whole year.
It's at night, so, we can't really see the house. It's quite wide from the inside. Living room, something room, kitchen and dining room and 3 rooms all the way. The master bedroom is near the living room, the other rooms are at the back of the house. There second largest room is taken by the other tenant, a girl from China, we got the third room, and there's another room, a store or some sort. Well, our room is.. surprisingly small. A bed with another bed under it, need to pull out when you need it, a wardrobe made in the wall, a desk and a plastic chair. A lamp and softboard, 2 mirrors, hangers and a shelf. ..ooo.. That's... exciting. = = Oh well, put our luggage there, met the other tenant and the other owner of the house, well, half-owner. Nice to meet you, bla bla bla. Then we headed back to our motel. wah~ motel is much more cozy. Uncle and aunty and brother left for home, we got a bit hungry and went to look for food.
And... all the shops opposite the motel were closed. = = Goodness... don't they have any 24 hour shop ? = = So we walked, in the night, with the occasional street lamp, to the nearest supermarket we saw, Westfield.
Really, it's empty. I mean, the carpark. = =||| Don't people from here shop till late at night? Nope. Most stores closed at 6pm. Yup. You heard me right, 6pm. Especially on Saturdays and Sundays, they closed earlier. They opened till late night on Friday though, 11pm. haha.. It's still early for some of us. = =
Well, luckily Pak n Save in Westfield was still opened.
Wao~ the supermarket is big. REALY. Many veges, many fruits, many meat (chicken, beef, pork, fish..... I didn't see any mutton? ), many (coffee) beans, many nuts, many sweets, many cheese, many bread, many frozen food, many beers and wines .... MANY CHOCOLATES. hehehehe
We grabbed a pack of ham/bacon which is on offer ($5 for 1kg..i think..), a bread spread and some bread. Paid money, carried the things on hand ( we don't use plastic bags..) and headed back into the night.
By the time we were fulled, it's 12 something midnight. lol. Showered and off to bed.
Next day, uncle came to look for us. We went to a car rental shop to rent a car. We got our Vodafone's lines done. I can't put my card into me iPhone, it rejected the card. = = Directly into safe mode. what la. Some days later, father bought a Vodafone phone for me, $99 including another card. ...Well, the phone is.. lousy, to me. Not friendly at all.
Later on, I don't really remember what we did. The days after that, we went around the Town, City Centre, school, blabla bla.
